Alysia Tate

Director of Programs

I oversee our broad grantmaking strategy and lead teams around multiple programs that help strengthen our grantee organizations and increase women’s leadership skills and economic security. These include our Englewood Women’s Initiative. I bring a racial equity lens to this work which, combined with our gender lens, increases CFW’s effectiveness and impact. I draw on my experience in serving as Editor and Publisher of The Chicago Reporter, as COO of Community Renewal Society and and as policy advisor and primary speechwriter to Attorney General Lisa Madigan. My longtime involvement with Re-evaluation Counseling, a peer counseling and social change organization, has given me additional tools around both addressing and healing from the effects of inequity and oppression. Serving as a Leadership Greater Chicago fellow, an Edgar Fellow and as a member of the Chicago Network (of women executives) provides me with a network of professionals from multiple sectors who help me seize opportunities to broaden CFW’s reach and impact.
